Lake Brownwood

This weekend Sandy and I were able to get out to the local lake and take some pictures. For me, a Colorado boy, it is a good sized lake. We went to the state park access and were surprised to see a park closed sign. It seems that currently the park has hunting only access Monday through Thursday. But being a weekend the park was open as normal. It is a very small park, but it has a lot of small cabins and lodges that are available to stay in during the warmer months. We walked around some of the areas including Oak Lodge and the eastern beach.

Here is the swim beach and picnic area
The Oak Lodge area had lots of stone work and this is a tiered stair case that went all the way down to the water.
Here is the eastern beach. I like the old fence rotting into the water.
There are lots of what I believe are mesquite trees and the sun coming through was spectacular.
This is one of Sandy's pictures. We both really liked this shot. There is just something about dead trees and water.
