My last night awake in Texas

Well tonight is the last night that I will be staying-up during our stay in Texas. It has been a usual night I watch some TV, posted on the heartland forum, cooked a great meal. I made our largest bowl full of sweet and sour chicken. it should feed us both for 4 or 5 meals. I will start packing up the kitchen stuff later tonight and get the kitchen ready for travel on Saturday. There is still a lot to do tomorrow to get ready to leave, but it just can be done quite yet. We're still enjoying too much luxury.

Its Raining, Its Pouring....

It is now been raining for almost 24 hours straight. in most places this would not be a big deal. However, it has not rained in this part of Texas since around August or so. The campground is starting to look like a pond. The dry creek bed on the back side of campground is running close to a foot deep and 10 to 15 feet wide. The puppies are torn about the wetness. Molly love the puddles and tries her best to jump and play in each one she can reach. Baxter, on the other hand, is not to sure about all the water. He almost has to be pulled around some of the puddles and has to find a "dry" spot to go on. To make the rainy day even better we get to enjoy the wonderful smell of "wet dog" as both of them dry out. It is suppose to keep raining until we leave Texas on Saturday morning and head for New Mexico.

The Best Layed Plans....

Who knew that the one weekend of the year that we leave Texas and plan to go to Big Bend National Park, just happens to be the most popular weekend of the year to go to Big Bend and there is not a single camping site to be had for us. We are still planning a scenic trip back to Colorado, but now through Carlsbad and White Sands. Never would have thought Big Bend was a Spring Break destination. Anyways, check back in a couple weeks for picture from this trip.

Enough to do for a while...

Our time in Texas is wrapping up quickly, and that is probably a good thing. It has been okay here, but 80 degrees in February is a little much. As we leave this state we are planning on hitting a couple National Parks on the way back to Colorado for our wedding and first reception on March 21st. Then we have to get to Pennsylvania for a reception on March 28th. We do not know if we are driving there with the fifth wheel in tow or flying out and back to Colorado. Everything depends on where Sandy gets her next contract. Right now it is up in the air. we could be going to Washington State, Bay area of Cali, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Virgina, North Carolina, or South Carolina. It is all a little stressful, but we will get through it and continue this great adventure.
